Many have asked whether or not they can “list” their used camera/lens/gear on our Facebook Page. Up until now, we’ve had a strict “sorry, but no” policy.
However, many have great gear that’s well cared for that they’re ready to sell in order to upgrade. We’re aware that there could possibly be plenty of win-win opportunities within our GRADS family. Someone sells their gear at a fair price. Another gets gear at a fair price.
This in mind, we wanted to pilot the idea of allowing used gear posts on our GRADS Facebook Group only. We only have a few requirements, but they are all non-negotiable. If all of these are not met, we’ll (of course) need to remove your post immediately.
I. I AGREE to copy/paste the entire template below into my classified post. (Copy/paste everything between the two dashed lines.)
For Sale: [Insert Gear Description]
[Insert Asking Price]
- Reminder: this gear is in no way/shape/form affiliated with Shultz Photo School. SPS is letting us trade gear in this group for our own good, not theirs. So…
- Neither you nor I nor anyone will hold SPS responsible for anything to do with this “listing.”
- ALL negotiations as far as price, shipping, who covers PayPal fees, etc. must take place PRIVATELY. Comments below are strictly limited to actual product questions, NOT for offers, counter offers, etc.
- If anything doesn’t go as planned, the seller/buyer will make things right without ruining the overwhelmingly positive culture here at SPS. No tolerance. No exceptions. At no time will SPS mediate any portion of a transaction or grievance related to a transaction.
II. I AGREE to only post one time per “listing” and bump the post no more than once per week. We hashtag our classified posts so that folks can easily search for them without sellers filling the feed multiple times for the same item.
III. I AGREE to edit or delete my “listing” once it’s sold. (You can either delete the entire post or change the hashtag FROM #GradsForSale TO #SOLD. Otherwise your listing will clutter up the #GradsForSale feed, which isn’t fair to open items.)
IV. I AGREE to be a nice human being and represent Shultz Photo School. Even though listings are completely private from a transactional standpoint, I realize we’re doing this within our SPS GRADS HOME. I won’t make a stink here.
If you agree to all 4 points, please be encouraged to make someone’s day by making them a great deal!
